Melt the butter in a heated pan over medium heat
Add in garlic to the melted butter and saute for 30 secs
Add in cream and bring it to boil Allow the cream to reduce until it thicken and able to coat the back of the spoon
Season with salt and add in 1 teaspoon of cognac
Remove the cream from the heat and serve on the side with the steak or pour sauce over steak
